Entelechia

Entelechia (o sul senso del dovere) is a spoken word video created by artist, poet and performer Anna Utopia Giordano and part of her spoken word poetry album Fogli d'ombra. The work combines poetry, performance, sound and moving image, developing a visual and sonic reflection on the value of life and on the interconnectedness of living beings. The text, written and performed by Giordano, is conceived as a hybrid between poetry and screenplay, intertwining philosophical, literary and scientific suggestions with contemporary themes and imagery inspired by ancient Greece. The video draws on the tradition of son et lumière night shows, using light, colour and visual transformation as expressive elements.
The concept was developed by Anna Utopia Giordano and Carlo Alleva, who directed and designed the video. Giordano oversaw the production and creative direction and appears throughout the work with both her body and voice. The music was composed by Un Artista Minimalista, with sound engineering by Massimo De Feo.
